‘ENTROPIC THREADS’

In 2018 I took part in a group show at The Koppel Project in Chancery Lane London. Entropic Threads focused on the inherent feeling of movement and change. ‘Entropic’ refers to the transformation of energy and our lack of control over it, where ‘threads’ proposes the literal reference to fabric as well as storytelling and history. Entropy pulls things apart into threads enabling each of the artists to put the pieces back together in a myriad of ways. In response to this theme I included a selection of fabric collages influenced by the story, statement or emotion within the fabric design. My presentation also included an artist talk with Dr Charlene Smith, discussing the relationship with movement, science and the body in relation to textiles. Semaphore Ballet Company demonstrated how fabric moves whilst in motion.
